Introduction

Growing up listening to mostly ‘80s US hardcore and old British punk rock these four teenage lads from Bury St Edmunds have always clearly had energy inside them. Now they’ve discoverd garage rock and other primitive sounds, old rock’n’roll and blues and the people influenced by that stuff, like Billy Childish, the Mummies, Guitar Wolf, the Gories, the Flamin Groovies, etc. Formed only in April this year, Thee Vicars started mainly due to the fact they are sick to death with typical boring bands around their area playing the same style of music as everyone. Thee Vicars are here to prove the point that life is too short for boring music. These boys have self-belief and faith in what they are doing, they believe that the saviours of rock’n’roll have been born. They want to save souls! Yes, they want to save you from all the evil music they hear week in, week out in their small little town. They say they are “ready to, if it comes to it, to kick kung fu style all the shit bands of Suffolk into orbit! They will set the bullshit bands’ hair straighteners on fire...make them melt, and their hair go curly! Make them go out and buy a belt for their jeans! So they sit at the right height! Not with their fucking arses hanging out! Make them wonder why they ever got their lip pierced? Copying “Hellraiser” sure ain’t big and it sure ain't clever! Ha ha ha! So kids, do you wanna be the problem? Or do you wanna be the solution?”
