Introduction

The Breakdowns play great pop music, music that makes you wanna jump about and scream, tearjerkers for lonely hearts, songs for lovers, songs for losers and songs for winners. What would have happened if The Knack had more than one hit? They may have sounded like The Breakdowns! Think of a mixture of The Small Faces grooving wth The Kinks and “Aftermath” era Rolling Stones and you’re halfway there. In an ideal world this band would be number one with a bullet! Tired of 'nu rock', 'nu metal' 'nu punk' and 'nu whatever else', The Breakdowns have quickly established themselves as fanastic song writers and live performers - wowing listeners and audiences alike with their hook laden pop nuggets and intense, purposeful melodies. The Breakdowns have been compared to The Ramones, Elvis Costello, Thin Lizzy, Joe Jackson, Johnny Thunders, Tom Petty and The Kinks, with a liberal sprinkling of Phil Spector and the Ronettes. This is rock’n’roll, sure, but with tunes.
