Introduction

Maximum Rock'n'Roll says: "Screaming, overdriven rock'n'roll compression at it’s best. Atomic Suplex are the British Guitar Wolf, the English Lightning Bolt or maybe the London New York Dolls." Time Out, meanwhile, says: “This is probably what Bill Haley sounds like if you have the worst tinnitus in the world. Not so much a sonic cathedral as a sonic corrugated iron shed.” To say that they are a rather strange looking band would be an understatement… it actually took me a couple of songs (about 3 minutes) to realise that there were only two people on stage as the singer was decked out in what looked like a 21st century throwback to the 50s biker look (think Marlon Brando meets He Who Can Not Be Named from The Dwarves) as he screamed like a maniac into a mic which was attached to a helmet! These guys obviously love trashy, loud and above all greasy rock’n’roll music which is something which should always be rewarded with attention. This is the kind of band we admire at Rebel Power as they are clearly out there doing it for the love of the music and not in some vain attempt to get rich and/or famous.

Five phantoms removed from the mists of time, These Peruvian-Argentines and their mixture of surf guitar, Tex-Mex, psychedelic garage and rhythmnblues are in the purest tradition of their legendary compatriots Los Saicos.
