Bo Diddley RIP
Bo Diddley RIP
Bo Diddley, one of the founding fathers of Rock & Roll, died on 2nd June at his home of a heart attack, age 79. Diddley, born Ellas Otha Bates, had been described as the missing link between Blues and Rock and Roll and his trademark rhythm widely copied. His songs have been covered by countless bands over the years, from The Sonics and Zakary Thaks via the NY Dolls and MC5 to The Oblivians and Billy Childish. A sad day indeed.
