Introduction

An old friend of Dirty Water, being a former member of The Headcoatees, girl group auxilliary to Billy Childish's old band Thee Headcoats, from 1991 to 2001. More sophisticated than the average performer to come out of Medway's garage rock scene, Holly can still rock things up with the best of them, whilst making all the boys fall in love with her. Holly's first solo album "The Good Things" was released in 1995. As a solo performer, albeit with stellar backing band, her sound is far less garage-rock and more bluesy and folky than with Thee Headcoats. Holly gained more fame after appearing on The White Stripes' album "Elephant" - joining Jack and Meg to sing along on "It's True That We Love One Another". After that, her ninth studio album, "Truly She Is None Other" (Damaged Goods) was released to much acclaim, followed by a US tour, during which a live album was recorded, "Down Gina's at 3", released on the White Stripes' former label, Sympathy For The Record Industry. Her latest release is as Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs and entitled "You Can't Buy A Gun When You're Crying'" which came out in March. It is the Brokeoffs who will be performing at this date as opposed to her other band which many of you would have seen last December at Dirty Water.
